Usb 2.0 cd-rewriter

Hello,
I have a usb 2.0 cd-rewriter that my kids lost the box and instructions for and I really dont know what its for and how to use it. I think its to burn cds or is it for dvd too and do i just plug it into my usb port and it automattly installs new hardware or does it suppose to come a install cd. Just lookin for some general information to get me started. Thanks

You are guessing correctly. You'll likely need to attach the power cord (look on the back of the case) too. If you are using windows, it will find it and, if the cd-rewriter has media (CD), it should open an autoplay window asking you what want to do with the files.
