How many frames 1440x900

Hey people

What i want to know, if i buy an HD5970 how many frames i will get, say, on crysis.
I am going to buy a bigger screen to take full advantage of this gpu, but i don't have enough
money now

Depends on your CPU, memory, operating system, and of course, the actual resolution. Since 1440x900 is just below 1650x1080 in the scheme of things, you can guess that with the same setup as the test rig you should achieve a bit better than the numbers at 1650x1080 in this review:

That card isn't required for your resolution.Even cards like 5850/5770 will be overkill.

You should just get a HD5770. That will be more than enough.

I just want to be future proof
I have an 8500gt now wich is as old as its release. And i'm going to wait a long time again for buying a new gpu again.

Yes, that's a more sane choice. Should give you great performance even if you upgrade to a 1920x1080 monitor.
At your current resolution it should let you play every game smoothly with settings/AA maxed. Even Crysis I believe.

HD5850 is nice.

Two 300$ cards one after the other will last more than a 600$ card bought once.
Think about it
Especially when you don't want best settings at best resolution to play.

If it helps any I play on 1440x900 with crossfired 5770s and crysis is smooth as butter with all settings on very high, dx10, and aa all the way up. I don't use motion blur so not sure if that cuts fps. I get anywhere from 35-60 fps map dependant. way better than an 8800gts 512 on med-low with 25fps. Hope that helps

I play Crysis at 1600X900 with a single 9800GT and all settings at high (No AA).
I get 30-40FPS(only in one stage I got less than 25fps so I would also say it is map dependant ).

Motion blur doesn't looks good to me.

Even a HD5750 is sufficient at 1440x900.

BTW, even my 9600GT works great in most games under 1440x900.

First, i was going to buy an 275 gtx, but i had to wait 2 months and even then my product request was rejected. Because it was out of life XD
