....you notice that although Garrett isn't allowed to swim in T3, it
sometimes feels like he is when he's just moving around normally.

....you get opposing factions fighting eachother for fun.

....you wonder why it is that big nasty beetles that make no audible sound
can alert guards to your presence.

....You run around getting a group of guards to chase you, then stop and gas
bomb yourself, taking down the guards and taking no ill effects yourself...
then you shake your head and weep silently.

I found another:

Trying to get close enough to a misplaced bomb to disarm it - just to have
it blow up in your face and getting a heart attack! LOL

Really. Huh. Now that's going to really confuse me when I bash Benny on
the head next time.

I saw The Gospel of John the other day (terribly in need of editing) and
it was interesting to see him as Pilate.

I wonder why the Thief games aren't listed in the IMDb. Lots of other
games are in there now. I guess I should see if I can add them or
something.

Right you are. He was also Karrass in Thief II: The Metal Age, and I
believe he might have played some other roles as well. An extremely
talented man. He really brings the characters he plays in life. His voice
defines Garrett, and makes him a believable character instead of a cardboard
stereotype. It's impossible to think about Thief without Russell voicing
the key characters.

Benny is also a supremely wonderful character. Russell's voice acting is
again perfect, and breaths life into the character of Benny. Who doesn't
love Benny; his gruffy voice, slightly bemused being, and endearing and
hilarious soliloquies and dialogues with other guards! I always feel bad if
I knock him out I haven't played the full game yet (TDS) so I don't know
how big a role Benny has in it, but I think his character is strong enough
that a side plot following the escapades of old Benny would've been a
wonderful touch. Imagine how funny it could've been, if Benny had some
small role in the Prophecy, and if the destinies of Garrett and Benny were
somehow connected. After all, they always seem to find themselves in the
same places... Coincidence? I think not!

Which one is Benny? Everyone talks about him, but I don't remember
any guard having a name. Is he the stupid sounding one talking about
the bear pits in front of Bafford's?

That's Old Benny! Of course technically speaking Benny is just one type of
a guard character, and there might be several Benny-sounding guards in one
mission. Come to think of it, I don't remember if this is the case in the
original missions, but certainly in the FMs you can meet Benny more than
once during a mission -- even if you've just knocked him out Still, he's
a wonderful character that I root for in every mission

but I tend to think that every guard who's drunk (and then get BJ'ed) is
named benny
