Hi everybody,

I am getting ready to build a new AMD/ATI system for media center, game cube and satellite channel box. In other words I will have it always connected with our TV for gaming etc.

I decided to go with Asus Crosshair IV Formula & AMD Phenom II X6 Six Core 1090T but I am stuck on the RAM.

I do not know what to buy for this setup. Almost all RAM sticks I see are i5/i7 designed and it pisses me off. Apart from that I don't know what frequencies should my RAM have for this motherboard/CPU.

Maybe this is a good choice:

Can you please guide me through this?

Thank you

Hello and welcome to the forums
Most of the i5/i7 RAMs will work fine with your setup.
And that G.SKILL one you linked should work fine without any problems.

Thanks for the tips guys. But if you can please let me know until which RAM frequencies should I look for?

Can I go for RAM of 2000Mhz? Will they be fully utilized by this setup?

Yes you maybe able to OC it from 1600 to 2000,but you won't see a noticeable difference in games/apps
