Upgrading DDR2 800mhz

I currently have 2x2gb DDR2 800mhz, and am looking to upgrade. The fastest RAM my motherboard will take is DDR2 1200mhz. It's not DDR3 compatible, thought I wish it was.

My question is, all things being equal... is there a decent performance increase from 4gb of 800mhz to 1200mhz? Would it be better to just buy 4gb more @800mhz and have 8gb total?

I use this desktop primarily for gaming, and a good amount of that is online. MMO/FPS

Any advice?

For gaming the RAM you have is perfectly fine, you will see no increase in performance by adding more RAM or by going 1200. Upgrade something else.

I will definitely be upgrading my GPU, but was also considering the RAM.
