My dvd will play a dvd but not a cd

my plextor px-712a will not read a cd, I have install an up to date driver cleaned lens, it will play a dvd, don't know what else to do, do you have anymore suggestions?

Since they use separate lasers to read the disks it looks like the CD one has failed.
