the i5 750 is superior in gaming, not to mention it's much less power hungry. BUT, the 955 performs well enough for any game unless you plan on a quadfire/eyefinity setup.

Now the real question is...

-Do you want to pay $200 for the more efficient and better performing but less future-proof i5 750 which uses a dead socket(1156).

-Or do you want to pay $160 for a power hungry but more future-proof AM3 Socket Phenom II x4 955?

Good call, and by dead socket I don't mean Intel will completely stop supporting socket 1156, I simply meant that there won't be any more processors developed for the platform, so his options for upgrading are very limited. That being said, the i5 750 is a very good cpu and will definitely hold you off until you want to upgrade in a couple years...You'll have to buy a new mobo, of course ;)

Good luck with everything misko

Well I noticed a lot of people are choosing which procesor to buy due to that bench graph (especially between i5 750 and x4 955).

Anand took those results from there reviews and if you look at the 955 review, he used an AM2+ motherboard with DDR2 ram. If he would used AM3 with DDR3 ram, results would be much better. So for gaming theres almost no difference between the two, excluded few games which run better with intel (Far Cry 2 for example).

As already said only thing is future proof, but if you always buy a new motherboard then the i5 is a great deal.
