I have a Dell and I went upstairs and the screen sd hard drive not detected. I rebooted twice and it has since found it and computer seems to be running fine. I have windows Vista 64 bit version - I am on a laptop.

I called dell and my warranty ended 5 days ago (grrrrr) and is it worth it for me to pay the $200 to reinstate it?

if its running fine now, I shouldn't worry, if the problem persists, it could be one of a few things.

try making sure the boot sequence is set correctly in bios

also make sure all the cables are connected to hdd and motherboard.

hope this helps

also i wouldn't pay to have the warranty reinstated, for that much, the amount of use it is going to serve I would just put it towards your next pc or whateve

Check the bios and make sure you have the boot priority on the main hard drive that contains your operating system.
