Hello, i am locked out of my computer all that appears is the bios screen and it says enter user password - i entered my password and it says that its wrong - so far i've had 7 bad password entries and not my computer is shut down for 24 hours - called dell and they said i had to reset jumper in motherboard - any other way??
If a BIOS password was set, we can't help you to bypass it. It's against forum rules. And it is definitely not the same as your Windows password, unless you happened to set both the BIOS password and the Windows password to the same string?
If you don't have any BIOS settings that you need to preserve, why not do a BIOS reset?
Finally, how did this password get there? Were you fiddling in the BIOS? Do you live with someone who has a wicked sense of humor? Did you buy the machine used and never get it to boot?
