I'm gonna ask a pretty vague question here but is it worth to buy crossfired Ati 5850's now or just keep one and how long will one last me?

or should i fork over enough for a 5970 and will that last me for a long time also ?

depend on how you play the game. if you like to max out everything and want to play very smooth at that 5970 will be for you. btw 5850 is a very good performer on most today games so having the card probably last for quite some time before you need a serious upgrade again

also would the 5870 achieve playable framerates in crisis?

A HD5850 can play crysis with playable framerates, I get an average of 38FPS with my 5850 using 1920 x 1080 res and everything on very high DX10 No AA

why not just wait and see if your 5850 is good enough, and if not then just add another.
