5770 or 4890??

im going to get a new computer with a core i5 just to be sure that i wont be slowed down by the cpu, now everything is good but i just cant make a decision on this one.

should i get the 5770 for $169 or just pay $20 more and get the 4890, the money isnt the issue here, its just that with 20 more i get about 30% more performance on games, but 5770 has dx11....

so is the new dx11 worth it? does it really give big difference in image quality?

btw my resolution is 1680 X 1050

I think the 5850 would be the best value, but only if you're willing to spend more money.
I vote 5770 out of those two, because it's a newer card (better architecture)
And I've heard that 4890 heats up a lot.
Also if you buy another 5770 in the future you can use CF for very good performance.

HD 4890 performs better than HD 5770 but 5770 is newer and runs cooler and also has DX11 support and other features,for that resolution the difference isn't much therefor i would choose 5770

You are overstating the performance difference;

Whether that 18% difference in performance is worth the extra money and forgoing DX11 plus the difference in power efficiency is a call you will have to make yourself.
That said either card should be very good for your resolution so I'd lean towards the HD5770 myself. Another option would be to wait for the HD5830 to be released which hopefully won't be long.

5830? sounds interesting, do you know when approximately its gonna be out? if its no later than this weekend, then for sure i'll get it.

It would get the HD 5770 and overclock it a little bit to reduce the 18% gap a little bit. It will still run cooler and consume less power than a stock speed HD 4890.

i know OCZ is good quality, but in the future if i want to crossfire can i do that with this PSU without being slowed down by the PSU?

The HD 5830 will not be out for a while.

Where did you get that from? If I remember right some of the HD5570 reviews from a few days ago mentioned that it should be available very soon.
