Yes, the only difference between the two is the clocksspeed so if the 1050 is overclocked to 3.2Ghz then it is effectively a 1090. There is no magic there.

The case of Athlon II X3 which was made from Deneb die and becomes a Phenom II once the 4th core & L3 cache were unlocked is a different story.
