Optimal overclocking settings for : fx-8150 CPU with AM3+ ASUS M5A97

Hi guys,

Sorry to say, I'm quite a n0ob at O/C... Never done it before. Mainly because I never really got a PC worth overclocking. But now, I find myself with quite a little jem (IMO), and wanting to get the most out of it. Especially for BF3 in Ultra  

Specs :

cpu : AMD fx-8150
m/b : AM3+ ASUS M5A97 R2.0 AMD970
ram : 16g 1666mhz DDR3
v/c : sapphire radeon hd 7970 o/c with boost
h/d : kingston 240g ssd
o/s : win 8
p/s : corsair 650w

Can anyone take a few minutes and walk me through how is the best way (bios vs software o/c), and what are the best stable settings for this PC ?

Finally, what benchmark software (free if possible) do you recommend for stable testing ?
