So I just landed an amazing deal newegg is running on the Crucial M4 64gb SSD for $65.

I had been considering updating to a SSD as a boot drive and using my 500gb drive for general storage, but I have never set drives this way, I have only ever used a single drive, but for the price I couldn't pass it up.
What is the best way to set up my system to use the SSd as a primary boot drive and have all the other general stuff to store on the HDD?
Should I update the firmware on the drive before installing anything and if so how do I go about doing that, or do I just update it after the install?
Thanks!
