AM3+ cpu cooler help: Hyper 212+/evo vs Hyper N520

I'm looking to getting a cpu cooler with a budget of 20-40 dollars, and currently I am using the stock cooler for the AMD FX-6100 (stock clocks due to lack of trust with the stock cooler), and I am stuck between getting the Hyper N520 or the 212 + or evo.

current temps:
20-30 degrees idle
30-40 under load

Case:
HAF 932 Advanced Blue edition (with link if needed)

which cpu cooler would be good for case
Hyper n 520:

or the 212 Evo or plus?

  1. 520 3 pin not 4 , 212 is better . Those temps you're getting are VERY GOOD , if they are accurate , if you are not going to OC don't bother with a cooler unless the noise bothers you , then again the 212 might not be the quietest . Logiysis mc 3002gx is what I use on my lightly oc'ed x6 1100t and temps @100% cpu use are never over 53c , it was over 62 @100% @ stock clocks with stock cooler . the 3002 is dead silent and keeps things cool .
  2. Im going to O.C. just not with default cooler, and noise doesn't bother me cant hear anything inside the case other than the 3 230mm fans so ya, also my motherboard has a 4 pin cpu fan connector so it dosent matter to me if 3 or 4 i just want to know which is better.
  3. 3 pin fan will run full speed at all times , 4 pin is controlled by temps , so less noise when not working hard . Fan might last longer .

3 pin dont have to run full speed all the time there is pwm and voltage too im sure that can one of them can still be be altered by the motherboard to reduce fan speed

so disregarding the 3 and 4 pin difference which is better in performance
  6. i havent used the 520 personally i have a 212+ and its a decent cooler for the money, i think the evo's is a fraction better than that

212 , bigger fan , more fin area on radiator , will cool better , if you want you can add second fan to the 212 , but it really does not add much .
  8. I have used both extensively, the 212 is MUCH quieter due to the 4 pin fan. both kept my 1045t x6 under 60c under full prime95 load for 30+minutes. However the n520 was able to keep it a couple degrees cooler ~58c vs the 212's 60c. I am sure though, that if I added another fan to the 212 it would outclass the n520 easily. be forewarned though the 212 is VERY tall, be sure to check your clearances before purchasing it as it does not fit in every mid tower case.
