When reading my motherboard manual, it mentioned the athlon 200 series was only compatable with ddr 1066 ram. Luckily I read this BEFORE opening anything, but I bought ddr-1333 ram as it was cheaper. I'm wondering if its possible to keep my existing ram (it would save me about $20 on a $400 system) using some method. Ram performance is a
Minor concern.

The ram is listed as compatable with my motherboard. There are several ram related features on the mobo, The most relevant being:
"*Due to cpu spec, AMD 100 and 200 CPUs support up to ddr 1066MHz. With ASUS design, this motherboard can support up to DDR3 1333MHz. Its vague wording, but I interpret that as meaning it will support 1333 with athlon 200 cpus as the mobo handles up to 1866 ram. Nonetheless, I'm not sure. No, there is no context for this despite the asterisk.

Specs:
Ocz 2x2gb ram, 1333 mhz, 9-9-9-20 - ocz3g1333lv4g
Asus M4AT88T-M/USB3 (radeon 4250 onboard)
Athlon x2 245

you should be fin just plug them in... you can set the ram speed in the bios but it should take care of it automaticly.

Thank you, I assumed it might underclock the ram (or preform some sort of voodoo magic on them) but It's not a good idea to assume with your money on the line! Opening the ram would lead to a 15% restocking fee, so I was hesitant to test it.
