I have a 5040 with a 40G drive. I also have a 120G drive. Can I simply
copy what is on the 40 onto the 120 and install it in place of the 40?
Would I retain all of my already recorded programs?

Thanks.

yes, IF you use RTVPatch.
Without RTVPatch it won't work nor would it have your previously recorded
shows. Note that to mirror a 40GB drive onto another will take several
hours.

Just read up on RTVPatch http://rtvpatch.sourceforge.net/
