1 x laptop; 1 x desktop on BT hub, both running W7 Home Premium. Created Homegroup on desktop ok. Joined laptop to created homegroup - works fine.

Problem is that the desktop can't 'see' the laptop! Laptop shows desktop on network and in homegroup and can exchange data. Laptop has all permissions set to be accessible.

Any ideas why the desktop seems to be blind?

Sorry, forgot about this thread for a little while.

Are you able to ping the laptop from command prompt (use ipconfig to find your ip addresses)?
Also check your firewall settings.
Try typing the name of the other computer into an explorer address bar with the \\<computer name> format.
Please report back the results.
