890gx & 9950be

Hey guys,
I'm about to purchase a new mobo as my old one (Gigabyte GA-MA790FX-DQ6) died yesterday. I have the Phenom X4 9950 BE @ 2.6Ghz 125w and I was wondering if it's compatible with the 890gx. What I've found so far indicate that it would be no problem:

I guess i should go with DDR3 ram as well. Someone enlighten me? :??:

The 9950BE only has a memory controller for DDR2 ram and will therefore not work in a DDR3 board.

ok, so what chipset would you suggest for my proccesor? don't suggest new CPU, since i can't afford atm

. I'm not really interested in o/c, neither is igp that important for me, I just want a stable platform, preferably NOT with SB600 as my last m/b.

They are all good and, would be great replacement, but out of stock on Newegg. The gigabyte is similar to the MSI board I linked to.
