hey guys....
recently i upgraded my graphics card from ATI 4850 to 5770
ever since my motherboard is heating up excessively,to be precise the northbridge and southbridge chipsets are the ones heating up whereas the GPU remains quite cool(judging by the copper heat tubes coming out from it)
just 5 mins of gaming freezes my system and the display goes blank.i have to cool it down for a good 10-15 mins before i can restart my computer.
the chipset becomes so hot, that i cant even touch it.
the CPU temperatures are controlled by the corsair H50
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated....

my specs are as below

coolermaster elite 340 cabinet
intel core 2duo E8400(not overclocked)
on an intel mother board DG35EC
corsair CPU cooler H50
ATI radeon 5770 1GB
2 X 2 GB ram
running windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit

More about : heating problem plz

Welcome Newcomer! :)

Easy first, open the Catalyst Control panel | Preference | Restore Factory Defaults; also verify that your HD 5770 is recognized {shown in the both the VPU Recover & ATI Overdrive}. Next verify that VPU Recover -> [X] Enable VPU Recover ; ATI Overdrive | click Defaults. In addition, if you are running MSI Afterburner {reset all values to Default}.

Reboot into BIOS and Load Optimized / Load Defaults, save and restart.

The NB is rated up to 105C {225F} and always runs "hot" to the touch.

If that fails then uninstall ALL ATI software, D/L new for your OS XP/Vista/7 {64/32-bit}, and reinstall.

You could also run a program like HWMonitor that can lug the minimum and maximum temperatures for your CPU, motherboard, GPU and hard drives. Then jut try aeon stress testing with FurMark in windowed mode and watch the temperatures abd report back. I normally see motherboard temperatures between 30 and 45
