I want to partition my 128GB Corsair Force 3 SSD so I can dual boot Windows 8 and Windows 7. I have about 40ish GB free on my SSD. The problem is that when I go into the control panel to do this, it won't allow me. What is wrong and do I have to partition it after it is formated or can I still partition it with the OS installed.

I also do have a WD Caviar Black that I am using currently for Windows 8 DP but I want to take advantage of my SSD.

So what should I do?

I would not bother and then run out of space on both your partitions.

I guess I will just install on my HDD then.

GOOD choice, Not really enough space on 128 Gig SSD. As you stated you only have 40 gig free, Really this is only 25 -> 30 Gigs free as you MUST leave at least 10->20% free for Trim and CG.

Reason you could not install is that you would have to first shrink your Windows 7 partition, And if you have hibernation enable windows probably would not allow any ways as this file is stuck neer the end of the partition and Must be deleted first.
