Hello,
The CD ROM drive in my hp pavilion dv6000 stoped working, it looks like a driver problem, but I can not find any help with that. Anyone has an idea where to find help with this problem?

we have the same series laptop and the same issue. I could not fix it, even tried different cdrom drives. Its the controller, and oddly it does show in the device manager. It just don't work at all.

Curious, do you BSOD? and log back into windows with this error message "Your AMD processor as stopped working..."

Perhaps your may be fixable....search for "upper and lower filters for cd rom" in google. Follow the procedure you find on it and restart. It will require going into your registry and deleting them entries. Good luck.

Thnks for your reply, I do not BSOD. Just the CD ROM drive is not working and the device manager sayes:
Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39).
I can not belive that HP has no fix for this. Mac is my next buy for sure !!!
