Solution
What screen resolution do you play at? If its smaller than 1440x900 then a 4870 will be abit overkill and maybe even alittle bottlenecked by your CPU, if 1680x1050 resolution then it should be ok. You will also mostlikely need to upgrade your PSU to 450 watts. Also if you can overclock your CPU to maybe 3.0ghz that would improve performance of your 4870.

i have only 15 inch lcd monitor,so it means that buying a 4870card without changing my monitor has no improvements in my game performance?but my only reason for changing my card is to prevent lag while playing on high settings.so what is the best solution for that?
