Signs of a failing motherboard?

What are they? I'm experiencing random slowdown in my system when there is no major resource usage as well as some major overheating despite excellent airflow.

Besides those though, I still want to know what the signs of a failing mobo are. I am sort of pushing my mobo with system overclocking and want to know what to look for.

Thanks,

GA.

Capacitors swelling, burnt molex power connectors, the smell of burning semiconductors.
Ramdom power downs or reboots ( as if you pressed the reset switch)
HD data corruption, BSOD's and all other anomolies

i had an ASUS tech tell me today that the problems i am having couldn't be caused by their mobo malfunctioning... that when their mobos die they won't turn on or will be dead altogether. I figured he was full of sh*t.

A GA-P45 is a quality board, and still young enough not to die of natural causes. Overclocking changes the game though, causing odd behaviors in and of itself. What makes you believe the motherboard is a problem?
