Hey guys im just looking for some advice. I am currently studying IT at school and have been given an assignment on planning the storage for some workstations used for digital publishing. I was simply wondering what is the fastest SSD and mechanical HDD available for under $500 each? Some proof or links to reviews etc would be much appreciated. I am currently looking at Western Digital 600G SATA3 VelociRaptor and a OCZ Vertex 3 240G Max IOPS SSD. I simply need the fastest HDD/SSD's and to provide reasoning to why i chose them. Cheers

Personally I wouldn't bother looking at the VelociRaptors anymore. If you need fast then SSD is going to be the way to go.
