Kan upgrade pentium D930 naar core2duo E8500

My motherboard has now a Pentium D 920 processor on board. I like to upgrade to a Core 2 E8500 processor. Is this possible?

Both CPUs use the same Socket 775; however, that does guaranty that your MOBO supports the E8500.

It would have been very helpful if you would have provided us with the model of MOBO you are using.
