New 965 Phenom system

Am looking to build a new system as my old one is single core, ide and agp.
Have looked at these components from Ebuyer but need some advice to make sure everything is compatible.
I have a 500w PSU which I plan to keep and a 17" syncmaster monitor which I'm happy with.
Reason for updating is because I now can't play any games anymore on the old rig.
Will be putting Windows 7 ultimate on new system.
My questions are . . . will everything work together? Have the new AM3 motherboards sorted out the bios issue with the 965? I don't want to have to start flashing the bios before I've even started. I'm not really interested in overclocking so I want it to be around 3.4 from the off.
Is the ram ok? I only chose this one as, when I went for the motherboard Ebuyer recommended it.
Your help would be much appreciated.

Whoa for me terribly heavy on cpu/mobo just to game on a 17 incher lol The MSI 790FX-GD70 is like the ferrari of the AM3 mobos with 4 x PCIex16 2.0 u really require 4 way CF just to game on a 17"? Also negative on HD 5670 if i were u

AthlonII X3 425
MSI 770-C45
HD 5750 at least
hopefully u have a decent PSU else look to hit an 80+ certified PSU about 450-500w

Was just getting very frustrated with my old system so began looking around. Have a tendancy to look at the newer stuff! But, I think you are right, I just want a quick system which doesn't cost the earth and will play the latest games. You reckon only triple core system then? As you said it's only on a 17in monitor. As you can see, I haven't built a system for five years and feel terribly out of touch now!

Yep triple cores are more than adequate for games and if i were in the market for a top notch chip the six core Thubans would be out ...not that we need those for games anyways hehe

That's brilliant. Thanks for your help. What you you think on the PSU? It's 500w but it's about 3-4 years old now?
That's alot cheaper by the way! Brilliant. It goes without saying, I guess, but do you reckon I'd see a whole lot of difference to my shaky old system?

Moving from a single core , DDR platform and AGP - hell ya lol Hmm what brand/model of 500W would that be?

Antec I think? As I'm saving on the other bits and bobs, I could get a case with a psu. Would you recommend one?

For an AthlonII X3/HD 5750 an Antec 500 would do ...if you wanted a new case with your budget perhaps an NZXT Beta EVO or the Cooler Master 690 if you could squeeze more dough in ^^

So, if I start looking for an Athlon IIx3, HD 5750, MSI 770-C45, crucial memory in the EVO case with my old 500w that will do it? That's a great help. Many thanks for your time.

Just one more thing . . . . the graphics card . . . is it worth going for the 1gb version?

that looks pretty groovy

1GB video ram may come in handy for say 1920 x 1080 resolution for an 17" low res it's not really a must have ^^
