I purchased an ASUS 5850 when they first came out. I went over to newegg to check prices for an additional purchase. I see over where you can chose /options /interface 2.0 and 2.1. I never noticed this before. What's new ?

According to Wiki,
Quote:
PCI Express 2.1 supports a large proportion of the management, support, and troubleshooting systems planned to be fully implemented in PCI Express 3.0. But, the speed is the same as PCI Express 2.0.

So no changes to the bandwidth or performance.
Probably just an intermediate step to feel out any issues with the listed features before releasing the PCIe 3 spec :/
