Can this psu handle two gpu's

Sliverstone st85f-p, I really want to set up two gtx 480's to this thing but can't find an asnwer if my psu can handle it

The 850w? No, for 2 gtx480's you'll need something REALLY meaty.

Edit: Well actually according to Nvidia you might be alright, but personally I'd look for something in the 1000w area.

st85f-p has a 67 amp 12 volt rail. Two GTX480's will draw about 40 amps. Figure another 10 amps for the CPU, leaving 17 amps for the rest of the system., It will work, but it is a little close.

The answer to the question, as stated, is yes it will. But more info about the rest of the systems power draw is important. For example, there can be a 200+ watt difference between one processor or another depending on configuration. And that is just one component. What is the rest of your setup. Please include everything and if your overclocking and if so how far.

1: Corsiar 600Wish/500w

2 Cards: Quality Corsiar or comparble 750W

3: Quality 1000W

4: Very High end 1200W

To be safe and use an OC:

1: 750W

2: 1000W

3: 1200W

4: 1500W

No this can not be said definitively unless we know the rest of the setup. I could easily put together a setup that would draw 1000 watts and I would begin with those cards.

^It would need an OC, On both GPU and CPU, and 356 case fans, and 25 HHDs in Raid.
