Maxtor one touch 4 not recognized

My Maxtor One Touch 4 500GB external hard drive is not being recognized by my Dell Computer operating system Windows XP. I have attempted to troubleshoot the problem with the Windows Help with no success. It is weird because my other PC recognized this same hard drive without issue or drivers but unfortunately this computer is down. Please help!!! This damn thing is making me crazy!!!
