New system - Do I need it?

I've been interested in getting a new computer for a while now, however I'm unsure whether or not it will be much of an improvement over my current system.

My current system:

Core 2 Duo e6600 @ 2.4ghz
2gb ddr2 ram
Radeon HD4850 1GB
Corsair 520W P/S

There is an issue with my motherboard where I can't touch the ram; if I add more or take some away, the computer doesn't boot.

I use the computer for a range of games and play on a 22" @ 1600X1050.

So the question I'll put to you all: In your opinion is my current system OK? (I'm happy with it right now) How much longer do you think it will last me until I will have to reduce game settings significantly to play them smoothly?

If you're happy wiht it now, why bother spending anything to replace it? For your resolution, it should be good for a while longer. The only issue is the dual core, as games are beginning to require more cores.

I would start saving for your next build.
