My data dissapeared from my external hard drive

Hello,
I was surprised to find my files missing from my hard drive. I had a whole lot of series which I have collected over time. The folders are there just empty and the size is 0Kbs. I didn't delete anything so where could they have gone. I have tried File scavenger and a few others I am not getting any joy.

Is there any way of getting these files back..

Well if the HDD is not responding to various recovery tools then it is likely that some form of mechanical failure is responsible. Data recovery may be possible but you will likely need to spend some money to make it happen.
