What will happen to a laptop if the processor has been tooken out and put back

Hello,
i have ibm thinkpad t41
and every time i turn it on it turns on and after 3 seconds it turns back off and when it turns on the screen is blank and turned off and after the 3 seconds the laptop wount turn on again i have 2 take the battery out and put it back in if i want to turn it on

I don't get this. Your title says that you removed the processor and returned it but the inside explanation was a bit off the topic. What exactly happened here? Can you explain it clearly?
