I currently have a Vaio GRX670 which has a beautiful 16" screen ---and
horrible battery life and it weighs a ton and runs hot and well-
it's perfect on my desk but in my lap or at home (where I do a fair
amount of work) it is a drag.

What I'm wondering is if anyone has switched from a big desktop
replacement to one of the thin and lights while using an external lcd
screen as the primary monitor at work.

More about : bigger treadmill

Hi Michael -

I have a V505EL with the optional port replicator (so my work space isn't
surrounded by cords since the V505 has its interfaces on both sides...
everything connects from the rear of the unit when docked) and I'm happy
with it. When I'm at my desk I have it docked to the port replicator with
my external monitor, printer, scanner and mouse connected. When away from
my desk, I have a 4.39 pound notebook with excellent battery life.

Everything works dandy for me.
