i use amd before and i don't really like it...

is the 9x5series' performance higher then the i5 750?

Don't go intel right now, it's way higher priced then AMD. Amd is the best bang for your buck right now.

You will get better performance from AMD, it's very good.

If you already haven't purchased it you might want to switch to the Seagate barracuda 7200.12 500GB hard drive. It's much faster.
