I have read the "how to" threads here in Tom's forums and also picked out my hardware (for the most part) from the suggested builds here. Following is a list of what I have purchased already and would like to know if I have missed anything that would bring me to a stop. You will probably notice that most of this list is taken from the suggested "extreme enthusiast" build listed in another thread. I went with a different video card (the cost was basically more than I thought I needed) and I substituted the WD Caviar after reading the reviews (at Newegg) and also to some extent the recommended one here in the forums was out of stock and ... to be honest, I really want to get started on this :)

Mostly I would like to hear if you all think there are things here that are "Bad", secondly can you see anything that I need in hardware and finally do you recommend any other software tools (I will buy some of the tools like Prime for testing). I do not have any experience with this so I do not know if there are little items that might be hard to "run out" to the neighborhood computer store and get.

Thank you so much in advance

Forgot to add
I already have;
DVI - LCD Monitor (24" wide screen)
USB - Keyboard
USB - Mouse
Speakers
USB - Headset

looks like a really good build

Only thing i can add is to take your time putting it together, don't force anything keep yourself grounded.

pickup some zip ties to keep the cable management looking clean

if your not sure take a brake for a few read the mobo book

Enjoy the build :)

All looks good, but for case perhaps look at a haf 932/922, but that boils down to personal choice at a point. For PSU perhaps get the 750w corsair, or 850w of course.. and also the 7200.12 barracuda, or spinpoint f3 over the WDC black, both are faster and quieter

Thanks for looking this over, stress levels are somewhat returning to normal levels having spent 2000+ so far on a box full of parts that could very well just end up that way. :sweat: Just kidding, will keep you all updated when it working. :D

Thanks for the suggestions, I have just read the specs. on what I bought and what you have suggested. Since I have the items on order at this point, I guess I will stick with the original list. I do like the Corsair quite a bit and the HDD is still a toss up between the three. I have to thank you too because in going back and reading the reviews on the WD Black, I discovered it does not come with a SATA cable, at least I won't be suprised by that.
