Graphics card/computer not working as well as it should

I have an intel corei7-920 with 2 radeon hd-4850's, 6gb ram, 2tb hard drive. Firstly the ati catalyst program doesn't look like it's recognizing both graphics cards even though they are hooked up correctly and crossfire enabled is checked. My games get some lag on lower settings and they shouldn't be, and 3dmark 06 only got 6733 marks when it should be much higher.

I also have all the latest drivers and a good power supply.
On the windows experience index they all get a 6.9-7.4 except hard disk which is near the maximum but my games are lagging, i put it on performance over quality and it's still lagging when it should be able to handle max settings.

More about graphics card computer working should
  1. Some thing noteworthy.. 3dmark still makes terrible scores and games still have lag, but I can turn the quality's and all the settings on maximum in ati catalyst and it doesn't seem to affect performance? It doesn't look like it even made it worse.
  2. Try it with just one of your 4850s in? see if that changes anything
  3. It actually worked better with just one of my 4850's in. Why is that? How do I make it work better with both?
  4. Have you got the CF bridge connected properly? PCIe power connections to both? CF enable in catalyst? Whats your PSU and mobo?
  5. Try switching your 4850s to see if the other one works up to par.
  6. They're connected right, crossfire is checked in catalyst, power supply is KINGWIN Mach 1 ABT-700MA1S 700W and mobo is
EVGA 141-BL-E757-TR LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX X58 SLI LE Intel Motherboard
  7. What slots do you have the 4850s in?
    "PCI Express 2.0 x16: (@ x16/x8/x4/x8)"

Could be slow because you have the other one in the x4 slot?
  8. I looked at the manual and it looks right, but somebody else installed it.
  9. Have you got one in slot 1 and the other in slot 2? Or something else?
  10. They're in the correct slots and the bridge is connected.
  11. Hmm... are the two 4850s the same model and brand?
  12. Yes, same model and brand even ordered from the same place at the same time
  13. Wow... im clueless tbh... try reposting and see if any body else knows a solution..
  14. Alright thanks for trying to help.
  15. All i can think of is that theres something faulty with either your mobo/cf bridge or one of the cards...
