Computer won't boot without hitting reset

I've just finished building my 1st computer, and I'm having an issue. When I hit the poer button, the fans and LEDs inside the case and on the motherboard, and the CPU fan all come on, but the computer does not boot. I then have to hit reset (sometimes multiple times) for the computer to actually boot up.
I have checked the connections from the power/reset switches to the mobo, which are fine. I have gone into BIOS and checked my boot order, which is fine.
I'm worried about doing damage to the hard drive, since windows keeps giving me the "Your computer was unable to start" and I have t keep doing a system restore.
Anyway, any insight would be greatly appreciated.

More about computer boot hitting reset
  1. We need specs to be of any help other than to direct you to the standard troubleshooting sticky ("READ before posting about boot problems", link in my signature).
  2. Specs: Gigabyte GA-EP43T-UD3L mobo
    Intel core 2 Quad Processor
    Corsair 650w PS
    Hitachi 1TB SATA HD
    6G DDR 3 RAM
    Nvidia GTX 9800 VC
    Antec 1200 case.

This is my 1st time building.. all with tutorials. lol, so I feel a bit clueless.
