Wich cpu to get?

what sould i get 955? 965 125w or 965 or if i got the money i5-i7 i have about £380-£430

i will use the pc for gaming and youtube

i have got a cool mast 700w psu and case thats it! dont worry about gpu i can get a crud one then up date later.


+im up for giving overclocking a go if thats helps

The 955 would probably be the best price for performance. It overclocks the same as the 965 and gets about the same fps as an i5-i7 for much cheaper(sometimes more on the highest settings in games).

I would get the Phenom II 955 that is a little more expensive, that should be the C3 revision(which overclocks better with less voltage then C2).

That cooler should be good, usually the 955 tops out at about 4-4.2Ghz, which will be plenty of performance .

The cheaper one is actually the C3 version..

HDZ955FBGMBOX is C3
HDZ955FBGIBOX is C2
