Multi media audio controller

I needed to reinstall the operating system on my dell 2400 running XP SP2. Since it is an 8 year old machine I could not get Dell to answer a simple question. The guy in India wanted to charge me $150 to answer a question.

I have not sound, I have installed all the obvious drivers, but the software on the resource disc is not clear what to install or reinstall to correct the issue.

There is still no sound, and there is a yellow ? mark on Other Devices, MultiMedia Audio Controller. What do I install to correct that issue?

You can get the drivers there for the sound card based on your exact model and system tag. If you did not install the chipset drivers, do that first.
