considering the huge amount of money that it costs (for the good stuff),
does water cooling actually make much of a difference compared with a good cooling set up ?

I'm setting up a rig specialy for overclocking too see how far i can push it, and i was just wondering if it would be a good idea to have watercooling.

the rig specs are as follows;

AMD Phenom ii x4 3.2GHz
Nforce 750a SLI
two GTX 285 cards in sli

thats all i have at the moment, theres more to follow ;)

anyone suggest a cooling solution ? case suggestions too please :)

I think its worth it because I hate the loud fans on GPU/CPU heatsinks. It really depends on your budget though. A good water cooling setup could cost over $500.

If your passion is overclocking, I'd have it down as essential!

A CPU only look can cost up to $300 with high quality parts. GPU blocks and another loop is around $400+ alone. You can cool them all on one loop, but you'll get high temps. If you want to overclock and liquid cool, look at around $700 for maximum cooling.

You want DIce/LN2 for that. Water will only get you so far.

1. Water cooling JUST the CPU will set you back ~$250.

2. Water cooling JUST the cards can easily push it past $500 using full cover blocks.

Basically, it's not going to be cheap.
