i having trouble finding a cheap power supply that can run 2 5770's crossfired. i want something under 90$ but this is the best i could find

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/ite...

does anyone know how much A on the 12v rail a 5770 needs? iv heard i need a single 12v Rail with at least 50A for crossfire, but is that true? or can i just get this one which has two 12v Rails with 34A on each? i really cant afford a Corsair or any of the other really good brands

No ! Don't take this power supply. It's not a good brand of power supply. In real you won't have 900 watts with that. You will be able to meet any problem as stability, crash system and other... I advise you Corsair, be quiet, Enermax, seasonic...

Add a bit money

a single 5770 uses like 100W (edit and thats like 8.33 amps @12V)

a 500-600W unit with 'strong' 12V rail(s) will work just fine, multi or single rail doesn't really matter...

ocz modxstream 600W, 500W on the 12V rails

ocz z-series 650W would be a bit overkill, but looks like good deal

You don't wanna play w/ "cheap PSU's when Xfiring, especually when OC'ing.

To find out how big ..... go here:

http://www.antec.outervision.com/PSUEngine

You'll find that each 5770 will require 51 watts of power.

ATI says:

http://www.amd.com/us/products/desktop/graphics/ati-rad...

450 Watt or greater power supply with one 75W 6-pin PCI Express® power connectors recommended (600 Watt and two 6-pin connectors for ATI CrossFireX™ technology in dual mode)

I couldn't find the OCZ z series 650 watter on jonnyguru but they do have the 850 watter and it got an 8.5

Best choices are the Antec Earthwatts 650 ($79) or the Corsair TX650 ($99 - $20 MIR). I'd avoid the rebate hassle and take the Antec.

ok thanx everyone, im going to choose a better brand then the link i posted. but what im wondering now is does it matter if the power supply i choose has more than one 12v rail? what is the difference between a power supply with one 12v rail and a PSU with say three 12v rails? can each video card only feed off of one 12v rail? or does the number of 12v rails not really matter?

I personally bought the Antec Greenwatts 650w 80certified PSU that was linked to earlier in this article for 5770x2 crossfire setup.

Check jonnyguru reviews on all of them

OCZ z series gets an 8.5 performance rating
http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=...

Antec gets a 9.0
http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=...

The themaltake link is to an OCZ

OCZ EvoStream gets a 9.0 but that's not on ya list
http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=...

The OCZ GameXtream gets a 7.5
http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=...

Of what ya listed, the Antec seems to be the highest rated.
