I have a Gigabyte G33M-DS2R MicroATX motherboard with a Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q6600 installed in a Silverstone SG01 case

I previously had the intel E6750 and I also have an E8200, I was able to overclock the E6750 to about 8x414=3312 by just changing one setting on the Gigabyte motherboard.

I thought the E8200 would enable a fast clock at a lower temperature but it would not clock up much beyond 3000 before failing to boot. It was not the temperature because that remained quite low, I thought it was the memory but looking at others who have the same kit on the CPUZ site most were using 6400 memory and some even lower.

So I put in the Intel Core2 Quad CPU Q6600 and again it barely gets 3000 (3060.04) before refusing to boot.

So I was wondering if someone can advise a way to get the most of my kit, is there a setting that can speed things up further in the Gigabyte Motherboard Intelligent Tweaker

I would also like a recommendation about which of the E8200. E6750 and Q6600 would give me the best performance with a safe overclock and any kit I could get to improve things (e.g. better memory or CPU Cooler etc)

I considered a better CPU cooler but because of my case I am quite limited in headroom (82mm) and I considered getting some 8500 memory but it is an expensive investment for no guarantee of improvement
