Hi gang,

I having been working on a build for the last month that will allow me some minor OC ability (not all that familiar with it) and allow me some longevity. I know there are some serious power houses to be built with the right amount of money thrown at them, but this is something I wanted to keep in the 1200-1300 range and still get the most bang for my buck.

CPU--Core i5-750 $194.99
Mobo--Gigabyte P55-UD4P $188.99
GPU--XFX HD 5870 $397.99
PS--Silverstone OP800 800W $119.99
RAM--4GB G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3 PC3 12800 $114.99
OS--Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit $104.99
CPU Heatsink--ZEROTherm Core92 $31.99
HD--WD Caviar Black 750 GB $69.99
Case--NZXT M59 $56.99
Optical Drive--LG DVD $22.99

Total system cost comes to $1424.88 with shipping.

Am I missing anything here that anyone can see? It looks like everything I have selected will work together just fine. I know the NZXT case is going to be a tight fit for the 48" ATI 5870, but it should still work. Based on what I have looked at and researched this should give me a fair gaming rig with some room for improvement in the next year or two. Xfire, Eyefinity triple monitor, Proc upgrade, Additional RAM, SDD ect.

Ideas, thoughts, opinions, comments?

Is this for gaming? If so, here's a better build.

CPU: i5-750 $195
Mobo: Asus P7P55D-E Pro $190
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws 2x2 GB 1600 mhz CAS Latency 7 $115
GPU/PSU: HD 5870 and Antec Earthwatts 750W $463
HDD: Seagate 7200.12 1 TB $95. Or wait for the Samsung Spinpoint F3 1 TB for $5 less.
Case: HAF 922 $90 after rebate
HSF/Optical: Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus and cheap SATA DVD burner $40
OS: Windows 7 Home $105

Total: $1,283.

Main changes: The board you picked is the older Foxconn socket boards. It had a problem when trying to OC above 4 GHz. The one I chose has USB 3/SATA III support without it being disabled when you Crossfire.

Case: The HAF is quite possibly the best case out right now. You don't ever need to worry about it being small.

PSU: A great one in combo with the HD 5870.

HSF: The Coolermaster Hyper 212 is one of the best HSF out right now.

HDD: The Samsung is faster, quieter, cooler and cheaper/GB.
