Hi, I have a Compaq 900Z keyboard that is acting strangely. I'm having
trouble with 2 rows of keys (3-E-D-C, and 4-R-F-V). I think those are wired
together, so that's understandable. I would like to take the keyboard for
inspection, and maybe replace it. But I am having all sorts of trouble
taking the laptop apart.

I have gotten as far as the panel above the trackpad. But I can't get the
keyboard to pop out. The keyboard has two flaps that holds it to the bottom
panel, which seems to be soldered onto the base of the laptop. Short of
using brute strength to remove the keyboard, I see no other way.

Has anyone tried this before? I've heard compaq laptop keyboards are
remarkably easy to replace. This one has been anything but!

Thanks in advance,
Ming Hsu
