Great. So give us more details and full sentences and we will try to help you the best we can. What is your situation, system setup, how long have you had the system etc, etc, etc?

In the meantime, enjoy some of my general advice:
-clean out all dust from the inside of your computer with compressed air. Dust is an insulator.
-reseat the heatsink. Only bother trying this if the dust is not the problem
-try running your computer with the case open and see if you get the same temperatures. Case cooling could be the problem.

But from your description, it really sounds like a case of dust buildup on the CPU heatsink. Just clean it out with compressed air and you should be fine. Do not use a vacuum.

That wasn't rude. This is. Learn to spell. This includes punctuation. They are called periods. Commas. Use them. Your second post fails to use anything, even capital letters. If you can't ACCURATELY tell us whats going on, we can't help you. Look at what you wrote in your first post.

5800? After reading toms article about the CF/SLI scaling on the 5870/GTX480 I thought you were talking about the 5850/5870. Whats 3.0? I'm pretty sure you meant you had a 5800 x2, which runs at 3.0GHz. But rather then come back and give the info someone only trying to help asked for, you acted like an @$$. Good luck to you sir, I'm out.

First, I asked you for more information. Second, I suggest possible problems/solutions based on the information given.

As I said before, "What is your situation, system setup, how long have you had the system etc, etc, etc?"
System setup is rather important as is the age of the system. This can help me determine if there is something wrong with your system or it can help me determine if something could be wrong if it is really old. Dust buildup is common, for example, on older systems that are not cleaned regularly. Also, anything you didn't mention that you did to alter the computer could be an obvious indicator such as overclocking. Another useful item would be your cooling setup. Knowing that would also help us help you. Ironically, you mention it later in your post and bash me for assuming you had a stock heatsink and fan (at least I think that's what you tried to do. I'm having a lot of trouble understanding your post).

huh? Are you saying that you see dust everywhere? "lol"? Are you saying that the idea of dust buildup affecting your temperatures is something you don't believe? Dust can build up on a system within a matter of a year or two depending on your environment. As an insulator, it keeps heat in. Without any place for the heat to go, it builds up. I thought this could be your problem because you mention that the CPU starts out warm on idle but then heats up to 70C on idle.

So that fixed your problem then? Were you overclocking the system? Manually altering the voltage in the bios is the only way I can think of for the voltage to be increased. 43C is now the highest temperature it hits? Anyway, glad you got your problem solved.

I'm a bit confused about this statement. Are you using sarcasm to imply that I suggested you purchase a new cooler? I never did such a thing. I suggested reseating your current cooler.

There is no need for you to be rude. It sounds to me that you are upset because I did not immediately come up with your solution with the little information given. This confuses me, because everyone here at toms is a volunteer who is willing to try their very best to answer questions on the forums. To be insulted and called rude instead that's... well... rude...

Now, if I have misinterpreted your post and you still have a problem that needs solving, then lets start from the beginning and try again, if you would like.
