I'm running Vmware Server on Windows 7 64-bit and I'm trying to have them host Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit.
My Xeon W3680 processor supports VT-x, and my WX58BP board's BIOS has VT-d enabled, but Microsoft's HAV detection tool indicates that HAV "is not enabled." Intel's comparison tool does not indicate whether my CPU supports VT-d, or whether my board supports VT-x (ref: http://ark.intel.com/Compare.aspx?ids=46549,36785,47917).
1. Does the Xeon W3680 support VT-d? Does HAV require the CPU to support VT-d?
2. Does the WX58BP board support VT-x? Does HAV require the motherboard to support VT-x?
3. Is my system capable of enabling hardware-assisted virtualization?
