Anyone heard of this problem? I just finished setting up RAID1 and then I discovered that anything that was plugged into the SATA2 header would not show up in BIOS. My HP multi dvd would not show up. If I plugged it into the GSATA2 header it would show up? I pulled the board and sent it back for a replacement. I could not find anything in bios that would allow you to turn off or on the SATA2 header. Anyone have an idea of what may have caused this. Could it just be a bad header?

okay, I'm ordering the ASUS P6X58D-E today and refund on the gigabyte mobo. What is the best (ram) memory to use with this board? When I say board I mean the ASUS P6X58D-E . Need answer fast got to order.................................lol

Just so you know, I wasn't randomly selecting DDR3:

Corsair 100% Tested - http://www.corsair.com/configurator/product_results.aspx?id=1522755
G.SKILL 100% Tested - http://gskill.com/configurator2.php?pid=2&model=215

The {F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL} is not listed it is a Dual Channel Kit, but the following are listed:
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 12GB (3 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 F3-12800CL9T-12GBRL - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231358&Tpk=F3-12800CL9T-12GBRL

ASUS Certified RAM - http://usa.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=gFBKfNyhppW9tDbB&templete=2

G.SKILL 6GB (3 x 2GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel F3-12800CL8TU-6GBPI http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231247&cm_re=F3-12800CL8T-6GBPI-_-20-231-247-_-Product

I am not saying that your {G.SKILL F3-12800CL9D-8GBRL} won't work, but I cannot guarantee that it will work either. Personally, I don't recommend running anything but 3's or 6's on any X58 MOBO, and the Tri Channel is the most efficient over the Hexa Channel; bench only - real life you'd never notice.

Hope this Helps!

Sorry one more question. Any thoughts on the ASUS Rampage III Formula LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard. I would like to build something that I can upgrade later as things progress and this board looks like it could last several years. Seems every time I buy, I wind up saying oh...I should have...........
