Hello,
Have a dell 4700, it's having problems recognizing the hard drive on bootup (sata drive)..I can't go into setup no matter how many times I reboot and try. Replaced the HD and replaced the memory (ddr2 667). Could it be the power supply or board? Anything else I should check before going that far?

Honestly, that thing is a pentium 4. Don't spend too much money on it.

From what you've said so far it's probably the motherboard.

You'd be better off just buying stuff for a new lower end AMD comp which should smash that computer in terms of capability.

Two questions about your recent Hard Drive upgrade..
1. Are you using F2 or F12 to access setup
2. Did you replace a Hard drive or add one
answer to 1. Use F2
answer to 2. You will have to turn on the second sata input port (read the instructions carefully at the bottom of the screen once you are in setup.
