We use an iomega hard drive plugged in via usb to our sony laptop once a month to run a back-up. This time when we plugged it in the drive wasn't recognised by the computer. Is there anything I can do? To my knowledge nothing has happened to the drive, apart from the fact that it might have got really cold. Can you help?
I assume you have tried different USB ports? Also, do you feel the drive spin up (or light up if it has any) after you plug it in? Is it a desktop version or a portable? Does it have a plug into wall and USB socket?
We tried all USB ports and not recognised in any of them, I have checked them all and there is no issue with the USB ports. The drive connects via USB and also plugs into the wall with a power supply, it does light up when we turn it on. It also clicks.
